Tuck Shop Trading Issues

Earlier in the year we notified you around the need for us to set up a not for profit company, in order to register for VAT and fulfil the HMRC requirements.
That process is not a quick process and as members of TVP, we needed to ensure we had the correct permissions. This process has been primarily been supported by the organisation, and its been identified by PSD and the code of ethics panel as the 'right thing to do'.
However we are yet to receive the green light from the organisation. Quite rightly they have some concerns and want to make sure this set up is right for everyone concerned. So its not a quick decision and there are a number of meetings planned, one of which isn't until the end of October.
Now the problem we have, is we as a club have reached the trading limit for us to be required to register with HMRC. This is something we can't do, until we get permission from the organisation. As a result we have had to essentially stop trading, so once the stock we have left is sold, we can't replace it.
The SMT who cover our stations have been really supportive of our plans and are certainly fighting our corner. We are very grateful for their ongoing support.
We do however NEED YOUR HELP!. When we present our case to the DCC in October, we want to provide him with a front line view of what we do and how it impacts on your working day.
Please take 2 minutes to complete our survey, which we will use to hopefully influence the CCMT in allowing us to continue supporting the front line.
Don't forget for every person who completes the survey we will also donate £1 to the Curtis Palmer Program.
Hopefully this pause on trading will, just be a pause and we can get back to providing you access 24/7 to the items you want. We will keep you updated and please COMPLETE THE SURVEY!
