Tuck Shops

Updated: Feb 21, 2022

We have grown the tuck shops provisions across the Club area over the last 18 months,

growing from one location to five, with a sixth soon to come on line. This has taken a

significant amount of investment from the Club in both money, approximately £5,000 for the

purchase of commercial grade freezers and fridges and time in the running of the tuck shops.

The tuck shop provisions provided critical welfare support at the times when Covid

affected greatly on the demands we faced. As a thank you for members, we have

also established member’s only meal deals, subsidising the cost as a payback for

your continued support. We have delivered some good links with suppliers such as

GSN and Pipers crisps and hope to expand what we can offer in 2022.

There have been challenges to overcome, as with the pressure on suppliers, we lost

our free delivery from Bookers and GSN had to increase the prices during the back

end of the year. This has had a knock on effect with small increase in prices. But,

the prices we charge are significantly lower that you would pay on the high street,

which is our drive.

In 2021 we saw some 16000 transactions through our card machines, which works out around 43 transactions each day! Which for a police tuck shop is pretty incredible.

The club would like to acknowledge the significant part that Richard Martin, Paul Austin and

Martin Duckett have played in making the tuck shops a success.

Taplow:

‘Taplow Tuck Shop is still proving popular with resident staff and visitors.  We have

tried to offer a wide selection of meals, snacks and drinks that appeal to everyone.

Feedback continues to be positive, GSN meals are as popular as ever, including two

recent additions ‘carbonara and English Breakfast’. Thanks to everyone who has

complemented on what products are available and how well the stock is

maintained’.

Amersham Tuck Shop in the New Building

Amersham:

'The club took over the running of the Tuck shops at Amersham in January 2021, since then we have added 2 new freezers for stocking GSN meals. We have added 2 commercial fridges for cold drinks and chocolates. We have also seen the results of deals with Pipers Crisps and Haribo. We introduced free tea and coffee to our members, something which the sales in the Tuck Shop supports - In 2021 we spent almost £1000 on Tea, Coffee & Milk!

We hope to see continued improvement in the facilities in the coming months, when the force start to refurbish the facilities.

Thank you for your continued support!'
